Kannada Worksheets for Preschool
Gentle, age-appropriate Kannada letter practice for children aged 3–5. No pressure — just guided tracing to build early familiarity with the script.
Is preschool too early for Kannada?
Not at all. At preschool age (3–5 years), children's brains are highly receptive to new scripts and sounds. The goal at this stage is not perfection — it is familiarity. When they see Kannada letters regularly and trace them occasionally, they enter LKG already comfortable with the script.
Keep sessions short — 5 to 10 minutes — and always end on a positive note.
Where to start — Kannada Vowels (ಸ್ವರ)
Begin with vowels. They have simpler shapes and are fewer in number. The first vowel ಅ is often the easiest — it looks a little like a simple curve.

- Use the Large font size when downloading — bigger letters are easier for small hands
- 3–4 rows per worksheet is enough for preschool age
- Let your child colour in the reference letter box for extra engagement
- Don't correct aggressively — preschool tracing is about familiarity, not neatness
- Praise effort, not accuracy
What comes after preschool?
Once your child starts LKG, the pace picks up. Children who have done preschool tracing practice find LKG Kannada much easier because the shapes are already familiar. See our LKG worksheets guide for what to expect.
